About the Role
Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor – Consultancy Role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading consultancy for a Cost Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a wide range of commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects across the UK, with values ranging from £5m to £500m.
Key Responsibilities

Acting as the primary commercial contact for clients while supporting the project team

Preparing indicative cost budgets, appraisals, and elemental cost plans in line with NRM standards

Advising on client development plans, conducting value engineering studies, and delivering commercial insight

Managing procurement: preparing tender documents, running competitive tender processes, and evaluating contractor submissions

Post-contract management: verifying applications for interim payments, managing change control, producing cost reports and forecasts, and supporting dispute resolution

Liaising with internal teams to drive financial and operational delivery and contributing to commercial strategies

What our client is looking for

MRICS qualified, or working towards, with a relevant technical degree (Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or similar)

Pre- and post-contract experience on complex schemes (£5m–£500m)

Consultancy or end-client experience, with strong commercial acumen

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Proactive, client-focused, and a strong team player
