Technical Director

A fantastic opportunity to join a London developer as Technical Director,. You will oversee the technical delivery of multiple projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards in design, compliance, buildability, and quality. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, leading the technical function through all development stages, from planning and pre-construction through to delivery.

• Lead and manage a team of technical, design managers and coordinators across multiple residential and mixed-use projects

• Oversee the design and technical development process from RIBA Stage 2 onwards

• Act as the technical lead on high-rise buildings (HRBs) and complex, multi-phase developments

• Coordinate with planning, commercial, construction, and sales teams to ensure seamless project execution

• Drive compliance with current building regulations, fire safety, and sustainability standards

• Manage consultant teams, design approvals, and value engineering processes

• Report directly to the board and contribute to wider business strategy

The preffered candidate will have a background in the following areas:

• Proven experience in a senior technical role within residential development or main contractor

• Strong track record of delivering high-rise buildings (HRBs) and complex schemes in London

• Ideally experienced across multiple asset classes (e.g. PRS, BTR, affordable housing, mixed-use)

• In-depth knowledge of current UK building regulations, including approved document and Gateway processes

• Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills

• Background in architecture or engineering preferred
