About the Role
The Opportunity
A residential developer in the Southeast is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team. This role overseeing all aspects of cost management across multiple housing developments, from early feasibility through procurement to final account.
You'll work alongside senior commercial leadership and play a key role in optimising cost efficiency, supporting procurement, and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and report on project costs throughout the development lifecycle
- Prepare budget estimates to support feasibility studies and land acquisitions
- Procure subcontract packages in line with project timelines and budgets
- Lead commercial reporting including CVRs, monthly valuations, and cost forecasts
- Assess and agree variations and final accounts
- Engage with design and technical teams to drive value engineering
- Support junior QSs and contribute to team development
Ideal Candidate Profile
- At least 5 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying roles at any level
- Strong understanding of cost control, procurement, and contract administration
- Comfortable working on multiple live projects simultaneously
- Excellent negotiation and analytical skills
- Confident communicator with a proactive and team-oriented approach
Package Overview
- Base Salary: £70,000
