About the Role

Quantity Surveyor - Interior Fit-Out

Fantastic opportunity to join a leading private equity backed organisation developing fantastic new hospitality led buildings in London.

Due to continued growth the organisation are now looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with fit-out experience both pre and post contract.

Role Summary:

You will be a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join the development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and management of cost plans, procuring consultants and contractors, administering construction contracts, and ensuring robust financial and commercial control across multiple projects. This is a key role that supports the delivery of high-quality developments on time and within budget to ensure the project aligns with the Group’s vision and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Planning & Budget Management

  • Prepare detailed cost plans and feasibility estimates at all stages of the design process
  • Benchmark and analyse historical data to inform accurate early-stage cost advice
  • Monitor and update cost forecasts throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide value engineering and life cycle costing advice to influence design and commercial decisions

Procurement & Consultant Management

  • Develop procurement strategies aligned with project objectives and commercial requirements
  • Lead the procurement process for consultants and contractors, including preparation of tender documentation, issuing RFPs, and managing responses
  • Evaluate tenders, conduct negotiations, and make award recommendations in conjunction with Development Director
  • Prepare and manage consultant appointments and ensure compliance with commercial terms

Contract Administration

  • Administer construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) including managing variations, valuations, and interim payments.
  • Monitor and manage risks, claims, and changes in scope.
  • Work closely with external legal advice and project management teams to ensure contract compliance and protect commercial interests
  • Assist in the resolution of contractual and commercial disputes

Project Delivery & Financial Reporting

  • Monitor project expenditure and provide regular cost reports to the project and finance teams
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including architects, engineers, and contractors
  • Ensure that financial data is accurately recorded and that commercial objectives are met
  • Support the preparation of final accounts and project close-out activities

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline (RICS accreditation preferred)
  • Minimum of 7-15 years’ experience in a similar QS role in internal fit-out, preferably in hotels, retail, commercial, residential, or mixed-use projects
  • Strong knowledge of cost planning, procurement, and contract administration practices
  • Experience working with JCT/NEC contracts
  • Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
