On Thursday 29th January, the St James Group a major division of the Berkeley Group, headed to the iconic, 6,000-seat Olympic Park velodrome where Sir Chris Hoy, the GB team and Paralympic team spent the 2012 London Olympics, to give it a go on the track.
The event began in the early afternoon and ran through to 8pm. This was an apt amount of time for the Berkeley members to channel their competitive spirit and race around the track in the name of charity. Blayze Group were proud to see our logo lit up in the award-winning venue above the cyclists and were thrilled to be able to sponsor such a wonderful and exciting event.
After a few tumbles, heavy breathing from those not so accustomed to the fixie saddle, cries of despair and cheers of victory , the competitors and other guests were able to relax, chat and indulge in the food and drink around the track. The event (although of course mildly competitive) was fun, light hearted and everyone involved was thrilled with the total amount raised for charity.
Our Managing Director, Harvey, spent the evening chatting to those who competed and has been persuaded to enter a team ourselves next year which we are thoroughly looking forward to!
