With talent pools remaining tight across many sectors of the UK’s real estate industry finding good quality candidates can be an exhaustive process. However Blayze Group, the specialist search and selection firm within the real estate sector, has recently successfully completed an intensive recruitment programme designed to overcome this problem.
Blayze Group was commissioned by Berkeley Group to create and implement a tailored recruitment programme for multiple positions within its commercial and technical department. Blayze designed a programme to access talent both inside and outside of the core industry, therefore approaching people with transferrable skills within the oil and gas industries.
Before a final shortlist of candidates was put through to face to face interviews with the developer, Blayze Group implemented a structured programme of psychometric testing, competency based tests, and screening interviews.
“For some positions within our sector the pool of talent can be small so you have to look beyond the real estate industry,” said Harvey Gretton, Managing Director at Blayze Group. “The problem is that accessing people who have transferrable skills is very hard. Our intensive programmes are tailored specifically for each scenario to ensure the chances of success. Due to the high calibre of the candidates put forward into the final stages of the process 11 out of 19 were hired.”
