Client facing Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager role at rapidly growing London consultancy

The Role

In this client facing Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager role, you will be working with an experienced team of project consultants on a range of developments mainly in London and the South East.

Reporting to the Associate Director, you will be providing cost planning and cost management services and will typically be working across several projects at any given time.

Working as part of a close-knit team, you will take responsibility for timely, on budget delivery of specific elements and packages of work. You will have good pre- and post- contract knowledge and construction delivery experience.

This position is based at the London headquarters; some travel to client meetings and site visits will be required. 

Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Preparation of detailed cost plans, cash flow projections and financial reports
  • Monitoring of tenders and bid management 
  • Feasibility and risk analysis
  • Presenting at client meetings
  • Ensuring designs meet quality and legal standards
  • Advising on procurement strategies


Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or other built environment discipline
  • Good knowledge of London commercial and residential markets
  • Strong presentation skills - PowerPoint and Excel experience
  • Personable and with good communication skills 

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • 2+ years as Quantity Surveyor, preferrably in a client-facing environment
  • Experience as a PQS working on projects up to £50m+
  • Experience in retail, leisure, residential, commercial office, health or education sectors
  • Bid writing experience would be advantageous
