Client facing Senior QS role with respected and well-established property consultancy

This firm of chartered surveyors, planning and property consultants advises overseas and UK clients on investments, occupancy, development and planning, offering a full range of services to an enviable portfolio of clients, including many FTSE 100 companies.  

Headquartered in London, but with a presence throughout the UK, this consultancy is large enough to offer a variety of projects with a range of values up to hundreds of millions.

Working with investors, owners, occupiers and developers this consultancy works across property valuations, planning, development and property tax to provide a full service package to clients.

The Role

This Senior Quantity Surveyor position is a client facing role that will give you the opportunity to lead and manage a variety of residential and commercial projects in London and the South East. 

Working with an established team of project consultants, you'll be responsible for projects ranging from £1m to over £100m, providing cost planning and cost management services.

Commercially astute, you will have strong pre and post contract experience on large residential and mixed use projects.  

Based out of modern central London offices, there will be a requirement for some travel to client meetings and periodic site visits.

 
Typical responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of detailed cost plans and reports
  • Overseeing tendering and bid management processes
  • Feasibility and risk analysis reporting
  • Leading client meetings
  • Lead and manage project teams
  • Mentoring and coaching more junior colleagues 

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related built environment qualification
  • MRICS
  • Good knowledge of London residential and commercial property markets
  • Experience with JCT contracts and tendering processes
  • Good presentation skills and strong PowerPoint and Excel experience
  • A good communicator comfortable addressing senior management and board level directors 

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • 2-4 years as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in a client facing environment
  • Experience working on project values of £50m+
  • Experience of high rise residential and mixed use projects in London
  • Project Management experience; familiarity with Prince 2 methodology and MS Project would be advantageous
